skills workshop three versatile actor dancers-pina bousch

Combined arts skills workshop 3- In this workshop I explored the combination of dance and theatre through characterisation, voice and dance expression. This was all from the style of the practitioner pina bausch. One of the main skills that I explored in this workshop was the use of expression.I explored this skill by showing how the person I was playing felt throughout the dance. At the beginning of the workshop We got given a storyline mine and my dance partners was that one of us loved eachover more then the over .As a team we decided we were going to show this to the audience by one being really in love and touchy to the other while the other person is always trying to push the other away. Another skill I used in this workshop was my imagination and how I expressed that through my movement. For the next workshop we were blindfolded and had are hand tide infront and behind our backs.this was to see if we could dance how pina bousch liked her work by having our arms tied we were re...

Mathew Bourne -Mathew Bourne is a director chorographer who has brought dance to the masses like nobody’s. Mathew bourns recreation of the traditional tail “the nutcracker “reignites a warm hearted relationships between the performers and the audience without the use of dialogue, Here is some of Mathew’s nutcracker work where he used different dance style to represent sweets-      As he works with dancers from mixture of contemporary, musical theatre and ballet training, he blends all of these genres to create something unique, but always the focus is on  storytelling using the body  instead of words. Earlier in his career, Bourne's work had a very witty, quirky and comedic approach. -he uses dancer’s counts when choreographing rather than rhythms from the score. -works are popular often with witty humor and large ensemble numbers.   Astons ballet uses humor deliberately to engage an audience in early stages of his work similar to Mathew Bourne although he ...

skills workshop one and two versatile actor dancers

In this workshop I explored the combination of dance and acting by remembering my past dream and putting my emotions, thoughts and movements into a sequence that by the end turned out to be an elegant dance piece made up from the storyline of a dream. At the beginning of the workshop we made a mind map of the key words in and about our dreams we then had to move around the room and choose one movement piece for each one of them words. While we travelled around the room we had to reenact our dream one main skill I gained from this was using my imagination deeply and being able to show how I felt using my body language and facial expressions. This workshop majorly improved my facial expression I was able to show whether I was shocked, sad or exited in my dreams from just using my face. I watched the beginning scenes of act one from the 1992 production of the nutcracker by Mathew bourne OBE which was performed by the new adventures company.   From watching Bourne's creation of th...
