-Mathew Bourne is a director chorographer who has brought dance to the masses like nobody’s.

Mathew bourns recreation of the traditional tail “the nutcracker “reignites a warm hearted relationships between the performers and the audience without the use of dialogue,

Here is some of Mathew’s nutcracker work where he used different dance style to represent sweets-  


 






As he works with dancers from mixture of contemporary, musical theatre and ballet training, he blends all of these genres to create something unique, but always the focus is on storytelling using the body instead of words. Earlier in his career, Bourne's work had a very witty, quirky and comedic approach.

-he uses dancer’s counts when choreographing rather than rhythms from the score.

-works are popular often with witty humor and large ensemble numbers.






 Astons ballet uses humor deliberately to engage an audience in early stages of his work similar to Mathew Bourne although he contrast to Mathew as he only present ballet how it is not with any adjustments.




-the ballerinas are on point and specifically dressed how a ballerina would be presented on stage 


 

Mathew Bourne was a massive influence on Fredrick they both use a range of dance styles

Some similarities in Mathew Bourne and Fredrick’s work is that they both use humor in order to engage the audience and give them the perfect performance that they are expecting. Mathew and Fredrick both use a similar character in there productions the nutcracker and the façade. In Fredrick’s the façade he uses a character called the gigolo who seduces a girl where the dancers are very clear and the dance is humorless, the performers  combine the skills of the dance and expressive. And Mathew uses the 

Some differences between Fredrick and Mathews work is that the ballet pieces in Fredrick’s are casual ballet they wear point shoes as well as ballet costumes whereas Mathew uses the knicker boker man who’s has similar personality traits  doesn’t use either of these.
